• Description: At Mercantila we are currently in the process of migrating data from an old proprietary e-Commerce system to a much more robust open source e-Commerce system built in PHP 5 on top of the Zend Framework (Magento). My main responsibility so far has been to develop a custom extension for the Magento platform which allows us to display Amazon S3/Cloudfront product images. Magento's current implementation of images for products requires the files to be on the server which hosts the Magento store instance. Back end functionality for this extension has been completed with a working API and I have begun working on the front end template blocks which will display our new gallery. When it is all completed I hope to package my custom extension and release it to the Magento community for free.
